Table of use for BSEN | Standard Details

BS EN 12825

BS EN 12825 is a method of comparing raised flooring performance using a common test method and allows for a large number of classes, which can be used as a picking list to create a “specification”.

  • Classes of element, six classes
  • Classes of deflection, three classes
  • Safety factor, two classes
  • Deviation on panel dimensions, two classes

There are therefore 72 classes to select from when writing a specification!
Because these performance standards are not arranged vertically there is great potential for misunderstanding, and advice should be sought on how to select a raised access flooring system suitable for the building concerned.

BS EN 12825 does not require independent testing: normally the manufacturer’s results are deemed to be acceptable.

BS EN 12825 does not recognise the need to specify installation criteria.

Pedestals & Accessories
Pedestals & accessories complete the Kingspan access flooring system. Download the datasheet for full details.

Consideration should be taken regarding the use of the raised floors as a working platform during construction, pedestrian traffic in escape routes, main thoroughfares etc. & how furniture / filing cabinets and other heavy equipment etc. will be taken into the building (across the floor) especially if the lower classification is being considered.

Classification is based upon a complete Kingspan system i.e. panels & understructure.
